The Ardèche takes its name from the river that flows through it and shapes its landscape. This region is a paradise for nature lovers, offering a breathtaking diversity of landscapes.

The aforementioned Ardèche Gorges are one of the region's major attractions. Carved out by the River Ardèche over a distance of almost 30 kilometers, they offer a grandiose spectacle of steep cliffs, lush vegetation and tumultuous rivers.

In addition to the Gorges, the Ardèche has many other natural wonders to discover. The limestone plateau of the Massif Central covers a large part of the department, dotted with caves and avens. The Ardèche is also renowned for its picturesque villages and medieval castles, testimony to a rich historical heritage.
